DANCE AUDITIONS

The West Side Show Room is seeking 7 student dancers for our upcoming Dance Theater production.

TITLE: Rockford Dance Theater

SHOW DATES: Jan 31 - Feb 16, 2025

PAY: $250 stipend

AGES: 16-22 currently enrolled in high school or college

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Dance Theater is a highly entertaining form that blends elements of contemporary dance and traditional theater. Choreographed movement is used to tell stories, express emotions, and convey ideas while incorporating the use of sets, furniture, props and costumes.

This event will present original choreographed works of five choreographers in a unified hour long program. Dancers will be cast in 1-3 pieces. Unlike a typical dance recital, Rockford Dance Theater will be presented with multiple performances over the course of 3 weeks.

REQUIREMENTS

All styles and movement backgrounds are welcome. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with multiple artists, and we welcome dancers of all levels, styles and body types to contribute their unique storytelling abilities to this production.

REHEARSALS

ROCKFORD DANCE THEATER rehearsals will start in mid November 2024. Rehearsals will be scheduled with individual choreographers and dancers based on availability.

Attendance is required at all rehearsals you are scheduled for.

TECH REHEARSALS

Tech is scheduled from 10am-10pm with meal breaks. A call sheet will be issued by Wed, Jan 22. Dancers will likely not be called for the entire duration, but we need you to be available.
