When her sister Mina falls ill with a mysterious disease of the blood, Lucy Westfeldt and her fiancé, Jonathan Harker, enlist the help of famed vampire hunter Doctor Van Helsing. Their hunt for the dangerous— and sexy— Count Dracula abounds with clever wordplay and quick-change antics.

Five actors play over a dozen roles in this bloodcurdlingly hilarious send-up of the literary classic.

ABOUT THE PLAYWRIGHTS

GORDON GREENBERG

Gordon Greenberg is an award-winning director and writer who has worked on Broadway, Off-Broadway, and London’s West End, developing and directing acclaimed productions for major theaters across the U.S. and abroad. His recent and upcoming projects include The Heart of Rock and Roll on Broadway, Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors (which he co-wrote and directed, also adapted as a podcast starring John Stamos and Laura Benanti), and new works such as a Picasso musical with Stephen Schwartz and Caridad Svich, and Crime and Punishment, A Comedy for The Old Globe. His celebrated revival of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? at the Geffen Playhouse earned the Los Angeles Drama Critics Award for Best Revival, praised by Variety and The Wall Street Journal as “inspired” and “brilliantly staged.”

Greenberg’s Guys and Dolls revival in London was nominated for six Olivier Awards, and his Broadway adaptation of Irving Berlin’s Holiday Inn received rave reviews from Variety, Deadline, and The Hollywood Reporter. His directing credits include Working (with Stephen Schwartz and Lin-Manuel Miranda), Piaf/Dietrich, Barnum, Terms of Endearment, 1776, and Yentl, among many others. A native of Texas raised in New York, Greenberg performed on Broadway at age 12, studied at Stanford and NYU Film School, and later became Artistic Producer at Musical Theatre Works. He co-directs The Broadway Teaching Group, the largest Broadway education program, and is a member of the SDC, WGA, Dramatists Guild, and Lincoln Center Directors Lab.


STEVE ROSEN

Steve Rosen (he/him) has previously collaborated with Gordon Greenberg on the musical The Secret of My Success (co-book, Joseph Jefferson nomination), the plays Crime and Punishment – a Comedy and Ebenezer Scrooge’s BIG San Diego Christmas Show (both at The Old Globe, San Diego), as well as podcasts Dracula, A Comedy of Terrors and Rolling Calls (Broadway Podcast Network). He has also co-written (with David Rossmer) the book, music and lyrics of Griswolds’ Broadway Vacation (Seattle's 5th Ave) and The Other Josh Cohen, which was nominated for six Drama Desk Awards, as well as the Lucille Lortel and Off-Broadway Alliance Awards for Best New Musical. He also co-created the long-running Broadway improv/variety show Don’t Quit Your Night Job, devising original comedy material for artists like Sting, Zachary Levi and Ariana Grande. Other regional theaters that have produced his work include Theater Under the Stars (TX), Denver Center (CO), Paramount Theatre (IL), Paper Mill Playhouse (NJ), Maltz Jupiter Theater (FL), Geva (NY) and Bucks County Playhouse (PA). @stevierosen
