STAGE MANAGER

Project: “They Speak” Staged Reading

Across three powerful weekends in June, July and August, “They Speak” celebrates the breadth and brilliance of African-American storytelling.

Dates: May 27 - August 26, 2026

Pay: $600

Reports to: Theater Manager

Responsibilities

  • Run all rehearsals and performances

  • Call cues for lights, sound, and other technical elements

  • Maintain the prompt book and track all blocking, cues, and changes

  • Coordinate communication between director, cast, and crew

  • Ensure rehearsals and performances start and run on time

  • Oversee backstage operations during performances

  • Maintain a safe and organized working environment

  • Perform other related stage management duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Previous stage management experience preferred

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changes

  • Calm, clear leadership under pressure

  • Familiarity with basic theater technical elements (lighting, sound, QLab) a plus

  • Ability to follow procedures and work effectively in a theater environment

HOUSE MANAGER

Project: “The Divine Sister”

Dates: May 21 - June 13, 2026

Pay: $300

Reports to: Theater Manager

Responsibilities

  • Oversee front-of-house operations during performances

  • Supervise volunteers as needed

  • Ensure audience safety, accessibility, and comfort

  • Coordinate with stage manager

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of front-of-house areas

  • Perform other related house management duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Experience with front-of-house/customer service preferred

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to remain calm and professional in a public-facing role

  • Ability to follow procedures and work effectively in a theater environment

  • BASSET certification required before start of contract.

ACTING INSTRUCTOR

Project: WSSR Dance+Theater | Half Day Theater Camp

WSSR's Half Day Theater Camp camp guides students ages 8-16 through the fundamentals of acting, storytelling, and stage presence through games, exercises, and creative collaboration. Builds confidence, expression, and performance skills in a fun and supportive environment.

Dates: June 23 - 25, 2026

Pay: $250

Reports to: Camp Director

Positions: We are hiring 2 instructors, specializing Theater and Acting: scene study, character development, improvisation, and musical theater storytelling.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate instruction for students ages 8-16

  • Collaborate with fellow instructors to create an integrated theatrical experience

  • Support students across a range of skill levels with encouragement and constructive feedback

  • Participate in staff meetings, rehearsals, and the culminating showcase

  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment

  • Other Camp Instructor duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience performing and/or teaching in your discipline

  • Ability to connect with and inspire young performers

  • Strong communication and classroom management skills

  • Theater background is a plus for all three roles

  • Prior camp or youth education experience preferred but not required

TRIPLE THREAT CAMP INSTRUCTOR

Project: WSSR Dance+Theater | Triple Threat Week

WSSR's Triple Threat Camp is an intensive performing arts experience for students ages 9-16, combining singing, dancing, and acting into one dynamic program. Students develop skills across all three disciplines while building confidence, artistry, and a love of performance.

Dates: July 20-24, 2026

Pay: $725

Reports to: Camp Director

Positions

We are hiring 2-3 instructors, specializing in following disciplines:

  • Voice/Singing -- vocal technique, musicality, performance, and song interpretation

  • Dance -- movement fundamentals, choreography, and performance quality across appropriate styles

  • Acting -- scene study, character development, improvisation, and musical theater storytelling

If you have experience in more than one of these areas, please let us know! We love a true triple threat and would be thrilled to hear about your range.
