Step Into Fun with Theresa's Tap Classes! STARTS June 3rd!

Tap is a fun and energetic dance style where your feet become part of the music. With simple steps and rhythmic patterns, tap dance builds coordination, balance, and strength — all while giving your brain a great workout too! Whether you're brand new or returning to dance, tap is easy to start, endlessly enjoyable, and a great way to stay active at any age.

Theresa offers two classes: Cardio Tap for students with some tap experience and Beginning Tap for anyone who would like to learn the basics!


CARDIO TAP

INSTRUCTOR: Theresa Sinks
TIMES: Tuesdays + Wednesdays 9:00 - 10:00am

Get your heart pumping and your feet moving in this high-energy Cardio Tap class! Designed for adults with some tap experience, Theresa leads you through fun, rhythmic choreography that builds into full routines — many of which are performed at community events throughout Rockford.

It's more than a class — it's a chance to be part of a vibrant, active group that brings joy and entertainment to others while keeping yourself fit and strong.

Enjoy great music, dynamic routines, and the unbeatable benefits of cardio, balance, flexibility, and core strength. SilverSneakers participants can attend for free!

Ages: 55+ (adults of any age welcome)
Attire: Loose, comfortable clothing you can move in
Shoes: Tap shoes required
Class Fee: $5 (Free for Silver Sneakers participants)

bEGINNING TAP

Always wanted to try tap? This welcoming beginner class is open to ages 8 through adult — no prior experience necessary! Theresa makes learning easy and fun as you master the basics of tap technique and simple combinations in a supportive, upbeat environment. Whether you're brand new to dance or returning after many years, you'll build confidence, coordination, and fitness — all while having a blast. SilverSneakers participants can attend for free!

With certifications from AFAA, NASM, BarreVite®, Barre Above, and SilverSneakers FLEX®, Theresa brings years of experience and a passion for making fitness through dance accessible and enjoyable for everyone. Join her and discover how fun staying active can be!

Tap shoes are recommended. For first-timers wishing to evaluate the class, socks are permitted. There are also a limited number of used shoes in various sizes that first-timers may borrow.

INSTRUCTOR

Theresa Sinks

Theresa Sinks has been an instructor of Cardio Tap since 2010. She holds several certifications through The Athletics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) and the National Association of Sports Medicine (NASM), BarreVite® and Barre Above.

Theresa is also a certified SilverSneakers FLEX® instructor. Eligible participants can join her classes for free! You can check eligibility at - SilverSneakers

Her focus is working with individuals 50 years old or better but welcomes all adults to join her classes. Theresa loves introducing people to fitness through movement and dance, while concentrating on balance, flexibility, cardio and core strength. She makes keeping in shape enjoyable by teaching fun sequences and routines using great music and creating a safe and positive environment.

Theresa and her Cardio tappers have provided entertainment in the Rockford community by visiting senior living facilities and other venues throughout the community.

Her classes offer a wonderful way to keep one’s heart, body and mind healthy. In addition to improving the fitness level of participants, other benefits include the opportunity to meet new people, relieve stress, and increase energy all in a non-intimidating environment.
